Stronger Together: Two Historic Goodwills Celebrate Unification
LONDON & HAMILTON, ON – Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes (OGL) and Goodwill Amity of the Hamilton/Halton region are celebrating their official unification as one Goodwill on June 1, 2025.

These historic organizations have separately achieved profound community impact by changing lives through the power of work. For more than 75 years, Goodwill Industries OGL has served Ontario creating work opportunities and building community for people facing barriers to employment. Goodwill Amity turns 90 this year, marking nearly a century dedicated to helping job seekers find meaningful work and building new skills.

Stronger together as one Goodwill, they look forward to a bright future driven by common growth goals and a shared mission. "This joining of two legacy Goodwills brings together our strengths to better serve our communities—amplifying our impact and advancing our shared mission like never before,” says Bev Kobe, President & CEO of Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes.

The unified Goodwill will operate as Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes, and will continue to serve all communities within its collective region, working to expand its reach and deepen impact while building on Goodwill’s legacy in the Hamilton and Halton regions. The organization will now oversee a network of 26 retail stores, 44 donation centres, 7 career centres, and employ over 1,300 people. Goodwill Industries OGL will serve more than 2.4 million shoppers, 1.2 million donors, and repurpose 31 million pounds of goods extending their use.

Training and work opportunities will be strengthened connecting more people to meaningful work. This unification also paves the way to amplify Goodwill’s brand and increase capacity to support families through access to affordable goods in times of economic uncertainty.
