The Canadian Armed Forces is undergoing a massive expansion campaign for military reservists (part-time service members) from across the country. Part of that effort, and the subject of the roundtable, is to raise awareness of the benefits to employers in granting military leave to their employees who train and deploy on operations.

Commander Richard Hillier is a distinguished Naval Warfare Officer with over three decades of exemplary service in both the regular and reserve forces of the Canadian Navy. Specializing as a Clearance Diving Officer, he has served aboard a diverse range of vessels, including those of the British Navy as an exchange officer, demonstrating his adaptability and expertise in maritime operations. Following his retirement from the regular force in 2017, Commander Hillier founded a successful 3D visualization company, providing innovative solutions to the real estate and furniture industries. He currently resides in Amherstburg, Ontario, where he continues to contribute his leadership and expertise to the community.
