Description
Start your morning with insight, access and meaningful conversation.
Power Hour is a new London Chamber of Commerce event series designed to connect members directly with prominent leaders and decision-makers shaping London and our region.
Each one-hour morning session will feature a respected community, business, government or industry leader sharing perspectives on timely issues, opportunities and developments that matter to London?s business community.
The format is simple and focused: a short presentation followed by an interactive Q&A, giving Chamber members the opportunity to hear directly from leaders, ask questions and gain valuable insight ? all within one powerful hour.
Whether the conversation is about economic development, infrastructure, government, innovation, investment, workforce or the future of our city, Power Hour puts Chamber members closer to the people and conversations helping shape what comes next.
Chief Thai Truong
Thai Truong was appointed Chief of Police for the London Police Service on June 1, 2023. He joined the Service following a distinguished career with the York Regional Police, where he served for more than two decades in progressively senior leadership roles across operations, investigations, administration, and support services.
Throughout his career, Chief Truong has led complex and high-risk investigative portfolios, including organized crime, drug enforcement, human trafficking, intimate partner violence, homicide, internet child exploitation, and special victims investigations. He is nationally recognized for his leadership in combatting human trafficking and advancing victim-centred investigative approaches.
Chief Truong has been qualified by both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice as an expert in the areas of drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the commercial sexual exploitation of women and girls ? a distinction that reflects his depth of investigative expertise.
In recognition of his distinguished service and leadership contributions to policing in Canada, Chief Truong was appointed a Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces (M.O.M.), one of the country?s highest honours for policing professionals.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Windsor and has completed executive education programs at the York University Schulich School of Business and the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management.
