The Ontario Government has introduced the Ontario Workplace Naloxone Program. The program was created to help businesses to respond to opioid poisoning in the workplace.
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is working with the Canadian Red Cross to get the word out to businesses in the province about the program that will help organizations to have up to 2 staff fully trained for free and receive a free naloxone kit.
Important: The new naloxone requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) will be effective from June 1, 2023.
Currently, this program is available until November 30, 2023.
