London Chamber Members Have Saved Over $4000 with Free JHSC Training So Far!
In early 2023, the London Chamber of Commerce announced that it was partnering with Ontario Safety Group to offer free Joint Health and Safety Training Part 1 to members that had between 20-49 employees. This program is part of a pilot that is being funded through the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Skills Development and it is training that is mandated through provincial legislation.
Typically, this training would cost companies $800 for two employees to be trained. With more than 50 London Chamber members having already participated, that’s a savings of over $4000.
But what might be an even greater savings is the possibility that these companies are now better positioned to avoid workplace incidents and hefty fines for non-compliance.
If your company has between 20-49 employees, there is still time to participate as the program will be running until August. Find more information below:
To be compliant with provincial legislation, companies with 20 or more employees are required to have a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and must receive training through an Approved Provider. Companies with 20-49 employees must have two certified people, one management representative and one worker representative on their JHSC.
Part I of the training typically costs roughly $400 per person.
Chamber members who participate in this program will save roughly $800!
